Sacramento River Salmon Fishing Opening...7-16-2021

The Sacramento River salmon fishing opener is coming on fast with opening day just weeks away. The interest and excitement is building and with yesterday's California ocean salmon opening success stories the interest and bookings are going wild!

Yesterday the California ocean salmon season finally opened with a bang... with many charters reporting limits of large healthy king salmon over 30 pounds!! These kings that are fattening up for their long Sacramento River migration to their spawning grounds are biting for the ocean charters and filling up the salmon holds.

The Sacramento River will officially re open to a full salmon fishing season on July 16, 2021 with full daily limits available to all anglers. The Sacramento River salmon fishing will begin 150 feet below the Sycamore Boat Launch at the Red Bluff Diversion Dam.

Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs has been reporting many sightings of large schools of king salmon in the Sacramento River already while guiding conventional trout fishing charters below Redding California.

"Being a good problem to have….we can't keep the king salmon away from our trout and steelhead offerings" reports Dave Jacobs of Professional Guide Service.

With all of the salmon excitement surrounding the Sacramento River opener, Jacobs has migrated himself north to tune up and prepare all of the hot "old style" kwikfish on huge king salmon in Alaska for the next two weeks leading up to this years salmon opener.

One of the top producers of big, hard fighting king salmon in the Sacramento River are well tuned and fresh wrapped “old style” kwikfish lures. When properly tuned and presented, these lures will fill your fish box. You can count on running the best tried and true kwikfish plugs while out with Dave Jacobs this season. Wether it’s a 4.5 maglip or a sardine wrapped k-15 “old style” kwikfish you will be amazed of the savage strikes on the salmon chew toys!
