John Ma of Pacific Palisades was also on his first long range trip, so naturally he won the jackpot, for a 57-pound wahoo. Tim Whelan Jr. of Aliso Viejo was second, for a 54-pound wahoo he got with a blue and gold bomb. Neal Cooke of Ft. Collins, CO took third place for a 49-pound wahoo

Mike Stout of Huntington Beach got the winner, a husky 65-pounder. Stout also got a 54.8-pound skin, also on a mackerel, and it won second place. Brother Milton Stout of Riverside won third place, for a 50-pound, gold Raider-eating wahoo.

Sanford Morita of Placentia won first place, for a 96-pound tuna. Joe Horejsi of Seal Beach won second place for a 92-pounder. Kent Iwata of Valencia was third, for an 88-pound yellowfin tuna. Glenn Eastes of Lake Isabella stood in with the winners and his (ineligible) kite-caught 113.8-pound tuna.

Chai Lee of LA was third, for an 80-pound yellowfin tuna. Posing with the winners was regular long ranger Roger Hegyi of Laguna Niguel, who bagged the trip’s only wahoo, a 42-pounder
