American Sportfishing Association Elects Board of Directors Members

June 26, 2008, Alexandria, VA - Six members of the American Sportfishing Association's Board of Directors were elected or re-elected to fill three regional seats and three at-large seats. Their terms begin October 1, 2008 and they will serve two-year terms.

Regional seats went to Jeff Marble, Frabill, Inc., who will serve the Great Lakes Region (re-elected); Jay Jolly, Boater's World Marine Centers, who will serve the Southeast Region (re-elected); and Gregg Wollner, Normark Corporation, who will serve the West Region (re-elected). All three were re-elected to their seats.

At-large seats went to Chip Powell, Mason Tackle Co. (re-elected); Bruce Stanton, PRADCO Fishing; and Peter Foley, Boone Bait Company.

"This year, the American Sportfishing Association marks 75 years of serving the industry. Our continued success in representing the sportfishing industry can be attributed to the strong support of our members," said Mike Nussman, ASA president and CEO. "Our Board of Directors members are dedicated to the sportfishing industry and committed to supporting the association. I look forward to working with everyone and thank them for their time and effort."

Jeff Marble, president and CEO, Frabill, Inc., who was re-elected to a second term, currently serves as ASA's Board of Directors Secretary. In his next term, Marble plans to address the access issues that currently face the industry. Greg Wollner, executive vice president, Normark Corporation, was re-elected to a second term on the ASA board. Wollner plans to use his time on the board to help create new angler recruitment campaigns. Peter Foley, president, Boone Bait Company, was elected to an at-large seat. Prior to his recent election, Foley served on the ASA Board of Directors for a total of 34 years. Foley plans to work with the Government Affairs committee to ensure healthy waterways for future generations of anglers.

Bruce Stanton, vice president and general manager, PRADCO Fishing, was elected to an at-large seat. Stanton has served for the last two years on the ASA Show Committee. During his term on the ASA Board of Directors, Stanton plans to help ASA fight for resource availability. Jay Jolly, vice president, Boater's World Marine Centers, was re-elected to an At-Large seat on the board and plans to grow the angling population while showing avid anglers how important they are to the sportfishing industry. Chip Powell, president, Mason Tackle Co., also a former board chairman, has served on the board several times and has headed or sat on nearly every ASA committee during his tenure in the industry.

(Secretary); Gary Zurn, Big Rock Sports (Treasurer); David Pfeiffer, Shimano American Corporation (Immediate Past Chairman); Ed Dinkins, Bass Pro Shops (At-Large); Thomas Dammrich, National Marine Manufacturers Association; Bob Eakes, Red Drum Tackle Show, Inc.; Ken Hammond, The Hammond Group (Ex-officio member); John Jilling, Wright & McGill Company; Jay Jolly, Boater's World Marine Centers; Jim Lebson, G.Loomis, Inc.; Darrell Lowrance, (Ex-officio member); Chip Powell, Mason Tackle Company; Corky Pugh, Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division, Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources; Gregg Wollner, Normark Corporation.
