The Salmon bite picked up near the Soquel Hole on the west side of Santa Cruz. There were some boats catching Salmon near the bottom in 200-280 feet of water. There are some Salmon being caught in front of Moss Landing on the edge of the canyon. There were some good scores of Halibut for the anglers drifting near the Mile Buoy. There were a few boats who fished up the coast in 60-90 feet of water and caught some nice Rock fish and Lingcod. There were some nice Halibut caught trolling from Capitola to Pajaro. The winds were down all morning but it did blow in the afternoon. The wind is expected to come down for the next few days. There have been a few Sea Bass caught in the scattered Squid near 4 Mile beach and Pajaro.

The inshore fishing continues to be good for the anglers fishing from 3 Mile to Capitola. I fished in front of the harbor with my nephew and Adam with fresh dead Squid and ended up with 2 Halibut. There were some nice fish caught near Manresa and 3 mile beach as well. The Lingcod and Rock fishing was good near the Lighthouse and the Mile Buoy.
