Currently the river is in perfect shape! Water is that green we like, flow is almost perfect and the fish are willing to play! Every time we have been out lately has given us some great results. Last Saturday was probably the best catching we have seen thus far this season! Double digit catching! Would have had a bunch of photos except the folks I was fishing didn't want to take the fish out of the water. Had a keeper hen that would have weighed close to 19lbs! A couple other keeper males that weighed in the very hi teens! Been some whoppers out there! The next couple months are going to be really fun!
As most of you know, last fall we had some issues with some conservation groups that tried to shut off our fishing. Well we started a group called The Idaho River Communities Alliance (IRCA) Locally here on The Clearwater river, we have our own chapter. We are The Clearwater water Chapter of The IRCA. What we are is a group of fishermen and business owners that are looking after our selves. Supporting one another and staying at the head of the issues forth coming about our fishing in Idaho. Our chapter has a website ( https://ccirca7.wixsite.com/mysite ) On this site you can see a bit more of what we are. We encourge you to become a member. Cost is $35.00 for the year. With this you have a voice! We are trying to get as many folks signed on as possible. Let's these organazations how united we are! This Feb. 16 we are hosting a Steelhead Derby based out of the Pink House boat launch. Starts at 7am goes to 4pm. prizes for heaviest fish, pays a few spots and also other prizes just for showing up and participating. After the derby we are putting on a BBQ! Going to be lots of fun! Cost of the deby is $50.00 for a non-member( 35.00 goes to your membership ) or $25.00 for members. We are expecting a pretty good turnout. On the wbsite you can also sign up for the derby
