Well for the last few days yellowtail fishing at the Coronado Islands has been really good, along with cuda, bass and bonito. Yesterday we had a group of 4 from out of town (great guys) and headed to the Islands at zero dark 30. We got out there early before the crowd of boats and worked it throughout the am. Long story short, as the day progressed the fishing was not as good as the previous days. The water temp dropped from 68 to 62 overnight. The weather and wind kicked up and it was like a washing machine out there. We ended up with 25 big calicos (all released), a 15 lb yellowtail, a couple of rockfish, 3 big cuda, and 1 bonito. Not the epic day we like, but that's fishing. The group got a good nap for the ride back and walked away with some good meat. Next trip is an overnight trip this week, we will report late saturday night or sunday am. The calico bass bite at the Islands is phenomenal! We are hoping the water will settle back soon. There are still yellows out there ready to be caught. We have availability this Thursday 6/25/20 for a Coronado Islands Trip, max 6 anglers. Check the website for rates and availability.
