Help protect sportfishing access in California!
Take action now to assure that the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) is implemented correctly and not in a manner that unnecessarily blocks off fishing access and opportunities while costing the state, as well as the sportfishing and boating communities, billions of dollars each year.
On April 8-9, the California Fish and Game Commission (FGC) will discuss funding for the MLPA.
It is important that the FGC hears from you! Tell the FGC that the sportfishing community insists that adequate funding exists for scientific monitoring and enforcement safeguards in the newly created marine protected areas (MPAs). Otherwise, the sportfishing community will face the brunt of the economic costs while the MPAs are not enforced and their usefulness is never measured or realized.
