MAZTALAN FISH REPORT - THE ARIES SPORTFISHING FLEET

The offshore fishing was gaining a little ground this past week as
the boats averaged about 4 fish per boat and a varied catch. The
"Aries II" landed a swordfish for his group, (the 2nd for the season)
and the overall catches for 6 fishing days reflected the single
swordfish, 1 sailfish, 3 stripers, 1 mako shark, 2 yellowfin tuna and
18 dorado. The inshore super panga action continued to produce a
multi-fish scoreboard and reflected 17 vaquetas, 109 pargo, 24 loras,
17 cochitos, 1 dorado, 10 barracuda and 10 grouper for their 8 days
fished.
Mazatlan Climate: Mostly sunny and warm, temps from 59 nights to 89 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Very light surface breezes, temps at 74 inshore and rising to 78-79 offshore.
Best Fishing Area: Continues to be out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid, starting at about 22 miles and working outbound.
Best Lure/Bait: Rigged baits for the billfish and dorado and the swordfish was taken on a large rigged mullet bait.

High boat for billfish was the "Fish Cabo I", with 2 billfish for 2 days fishing, along with the only wahoo for the week.
