While things aren't back to normal yet in Cabo San Lucas, there continues to be day by day improvement for the numbers of charter fishing days and the flow of tourists have noticeably increased. Even better, the projected tropical storm fizzled and never reached Cabo and all looks well for the weekend. The fishing remains pretty good for those that were out on the water this past week. The marlin bite has been just so-so and while lots of fish are being baited every day, it's been hard to find the biters. Still, it creates plenty of action as the day progresses. Overall counts for 39 days fished reflected 23 stripers, (16 released) 31 yellowfin tuna, 1 wahoo and 80 dorado. Hi billfish count for the week was the "Gaviota II", with 5 stripers for 7 days fished and followed by the "Tuna Time, with 4 stripers for 2 days fished.

Cabo Climate: A lot of weather hoopla that didn't happen. Mixed clouds and temps from 68 nights to 96 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Windy on the Pacific side but calm in the Sea of Cortez side. Temps from 75 at Cabo Falso and rising to 82-83 at San Jose Del Cabo.

Best Fishing Area: From Chileno to Palmilla, 2-5 miles offshore.

Best Lure/Bait: Good numbers of follows and short strikes on the artificials, especially in the mackerel colors, but live bait was by far the best, either for the sleepers or the drop backs.
