Just to update you all,
the Newport barge now has Live Squid!!
San Pedro also had a fresh load of Live Squid delivered this morning, and both locations have nice sardine & anchovies as well.
The first person to answer the following questions correctly, wins a $25 gift certificate to Bob's Sporting Goods in West L.A.
1) In what months do Anchovies spawn?
2) In what popular lunch fare are Anchovies a key ingredient? And
3) Name the 2 marine birds whose breeding success is strongly connected to anchovy abundance?

San Pedro bait has a fresh load of live squid in the barge right outside Cabrillo Beach. We have beautiful anchovies and sardines as well. The offshore Tuna have been sucking down the squid very well lately. I definitely recommend taking some squid if you are going searching offshore. Either straight flyline or a 1/8-1/2 oz slider and flouro topshot is the hot ticket! ...... Read More

San Pedro and Newport barges both have live anchovies and a limited amount of sardines. If all goes as planned, we'll have more sardines to go with the anchovies all weekend. Can this weather get any nicer? Now get out there, & don't forget to send me your picture! ...... Read More
