The boats continue to produce billfish at an average rate of one per boat day fished and rounding out the catches with a few dorado and yellowfin tuna. Hi count boat for the week was the "Gaviota IV", with Captain Octavio Castillo, reflecting 5 stripers for two fishing days and closely followed by the "Fish Cabo I", reflecting 5 stripers, 8 dorado and 3 yellowfin tuna for 3 fishing days. The overall combined fish counts for 33 days fished reflected 30 stripers, (28 released) 23 yellowfin tuna and 49 dorado.

Cabo Climate: Hot days, cooler nights, temps from 77 nights to 101 daytime highs and partly cloudy.

Sea Conditions: Good throughout the area with temperatures stable at 85-86 degrees and good clarity.

Best Fishing Area: Continues to be on the Pacific side of the peninsula with the Golden Gate & Jaime Banks being the "hot spots" for all of the fish. This is fairly unusual for this time of year as the Sea of Cortez side has historically been the best fishing area during August.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait is best for the billfish and dorado with quite a few fish being taken on the live bait dropped back on the billfish chasing the artificial and after a dorado is already hooked-up. The tuna were primarily taken on the tuna feathers this week and most were the school sized fish to about 25-30 lbs.

Live Bait Supply: Remains very good at this time.
