With the lake water temperature rising to 68 degrees with the warm weather we have been having the fish have been coming up to shallow water. One of our local fishermen fishing from his kayak metered quite a few fish at 8 to 10 foot of water. Crappie schools along with bluegill and some very large bass have been spotted in shallow water.

The largemouth bass are in spawn so there’s a lot of big females hanging on beds.

The bluegill are  starting in the coves but so far they all have been small fish. Two ten year olds, Jeremy and Justin fishing together down San Carlos caught a whole stringer of bluegill on red worms.

Water temperature: 68
