Had the family out on the Cherokee in Lorain on the 4th of July doing a little fun fishing, along with a four legged furry friend (Cooper)

Mother nature did throw us a small curve ball with a small weather system that moved through pouring buckets of rain forcing us to push back our departure an hour, but once that moved through it was a beautiful day on a practicaly flat lake.

We were just out enjoying the day and didn't keep anything - just a little catching and releasing - and we did a lot of catching in the short amount of time we were out there. Lots of little guys still hanging around but the average size of fish we were picking up were a very nice grade of fish. I lost count on how many we caught but I am estimating around 30 fish came on board with 20 of those being 16" and bigger

Our program still remains the same with Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. 40TT in front of Stinger Spoons from Fishing Addiction Gear 95 to 100 back. Didn't run any dipseys but did put a down rigger with a 12# ball down to 41 feet with a 23' leed that pulled some good fish on an orange chilly willy spoon. Speed remains on the fast side at a steady 2.8mph in 48 to 54' of water. There is fish EVERYWHERE down there it's absolutely incredible and a very short ride out of the river. Seeing bait balls on the graph with fish feeding around them is something we fisherman dream about every day.

We have a few days left open out of Lorain for Chrome (Steelhead) & Walleye if your looking to get out. We will be in Lorain until August 18th then we head back to Oak Harbor for Yellow Perch for September and October.
