The Puerto Morelos fishing from the Marina El Cid sportfishing fleet
continues to provide excellent action of mixed bag catches that
ranged from surface to bottom fish. A little slow on anglers this
past week allowed for 13 combined fishing days and reflected catches
of 2 sailfish, 18 king mackerel, 26 Spanish mackerel, 31 bonito, 3
Atlantic barracuda, 3 dorado and 1 wahoo for the offshore and 1 red
snapper and 2 triggerfish for the bottom fishing. The newest boat in
the fleet, "HAMMER", produced the only dorado, and 1 sailfish, along
with 4 bonito for a single outing.
PM Climate: Mostly cloudy days, temps from 75 nights to 92 daytime highs and about a 60% chance for PM and night rains.
Sea Conditions: A very good week with light surface winds and small swell and minor wind chop with approximately 5-10 knots of easterly breeze and sea temps at 85-86.
Best Bait: Continues to be the rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo that are taken in the local waters.
