Fish don't care if it's wet, they're hungry off San Diego and Avila Beach
Bluefin and albacore! At 9:30 a.m. Capt. Mark Oronoz on the Pacific Voyager out of Seaforth called in with 50+ bluefin tuna and 2 yellowfin tuna. Ten minutes earlier, Capt. Drew Card of the Pacific Queen out of Patriot in Avila Beach said the first bait stop produced 6 albacore all over 25 pounds and most over 30 pounds. The weather is wet but the fish don't care. There is nothing in the forecast that calls for big wind to change the conditions. You can find the updates from their landings here on SportfishingReport.com. It's going to get sunny and you should go fishing even before it does. All the landings have tuna trips. It's the best bet in town. Here's this morning's National Weather Service forecast:
THE UPPER LOW CENTERED NEAR PT CONCEPTION THIS MORNING WILL MOVE NE TODAY AND TONIGHT. DRY NW FLOW WILL DEVELOP ALOFT THURSDAY AS A RIDGE BUILDS OFF THE COAST. THIS SHORT WAVE RIDGE WILL FLATTEN OUT AND MOVE THROUGH FRIDAY. ANOTHER UPPER HIGH WILL BUILD IN FROM THE W SATURDAY. WEAK OFFSHORE SURFACE FLOW WILL ALSO DEVELOP FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AS A SURFACE HIGH FORMS OVER THE INTERIOR.
