Birthday chukar gone with the wind The chukar are thick in Nevada but that doesn't make them any easier to shoot, especially when all they have to do is set their wings and catch a 30 mph wind.

What an incredible place the Great Basin is, with ancient Lake Lahontan bed strewn with tufa and upthrust mountains peaked with white.

We had a lot of chances, we hiked for miles, we had a great time. Now it's time for more 40th birthday celebrations in Reno for my brother Bob

All six of the Holland brothers are together for this one, a trip to remember already. More hunting and some fishing at Pyramid Lake tomorrow.
