Captain Temo Verbooned reported excellent action on the sailfish with
concentrations in several different areas that may change from day to
day. However, plenty of action with many boats landing 3-4 fish and
having a dozen opportunities or more. He reported many double
strikes with fish coming in hard on the baits and often making it
difficult to set the hooks. Captain Chiro Barrigan, owner of the
"Bloody Hook", reported very good sailfish action off
Troncones Beach. Fishing with the Paul Watts group from Missouri,
they released 3 sailfish on the first day and followed up with 3 more
on the 2nd day. Additionally, he said they missed a dorado strike
and 7 other sailfish opportunities and reported numerous jumpers
throughout the area. The inshore fishing continues to provide good action for the Sierras and jack cravele chasing the bait balls of sardines along the beaches and moving rapidly from area to area. A few roosterfish but very small for this area, mostly in the 4-5 lb. ranges.
IZ Climate: Sunny and warm days and nights with temps from 67 nights to 87 datyime highs.
Sea Conditions: Inshore waters at 79 degrees and rising to 82 degrees at about 10 miles offshore. Waters are green to clean green from the shoreline to about 10 miles, then cleaning and bluing to excellent clarity.

I just got off the telephone with Roberto Marquez, the owner of the Fish Cabo Fleet and he explained that the fishing this past week was unusually difficult and poor for the Cabo San Lucas areas and that it made no difference as to which side of the peninsula one fished on, it was equally poor for the catching. About the only for sure fish to bite have been the inshore catches for...... Read More
