The inshore corvina bite has tapered off considerably to just an occasional fish for the boats. On the other-hand, the pargo bite has soared and the overall inshore fishing produced excellent action for the anglers that included a black snook aboard the "Anzuelo I", with Captain Victor. A fair assessment of the offshore fishing from Mazatlan this past week would reflect a 100% billfish catch rate for every boat, albeit, there were not too many days fished. Nevertheless, every boat landed a billfish for their effort and it has been some time since we were able to make that statement for this area. The overall fish counts for the offshore waters for 5 days fishing reflected 5 stripers and 1 dorado. The inshore fishing for a total of 10 days fished reflected 1 black snook 5 corvina, 2 cabrilla, 48 mojarres, 1 roncacho, 59 loras, 2 conejos, 4 cochitos, 8 toro, (jack cravelle) and 73 pargo.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly sunny & warm days with occasional passing clouds and temps that ranged from 50 nights to 83 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Mostly calm this past week with inshore temps at 67-68 degrees and rising to 73-74 at the 20 mile mark out to the south of the Marina El Cid.

Best Fishing Area: The better fishing took place along the temp break at about 20 miles south of the Marina El Cid.

Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits captured all of the offshore fish.

Bait Supply: Very good supply of live bait and rigged baits.
