The move into the Spring Break Season has Cabo full of tourists, but unfortunately, it's all of the non-fishing types. Probably a great time to own a bar or a disco, but the folks currently on location, as in all past Spring Break Seasons, are not anglers and very few boats are fishing. While not many boats fished, this past week, those that did were able to bait several billfish each day but ran into the "don't wannabite" syndrome. The overall combined catch reports for a total of six days fished reflected 3 stripers released, 1 dorado and 13 yellowfin tuna.

Cabo Climate:
Sunny, clear skies and nice warm days with temps from 60 nights to 82 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions:
Golden Gate Bank on the Pacific side to the Gorda Banks on the Sea of Cortez side, the temps remain at 69-70 degrees. Temps rise to 71-72 just a few miles south of the 95 fathom spot, just outside the 1000 fathom curve and from the 1150 fathom spot to the Cabrillo Seamount. Lots of good, clean, blue water on both sides of the peninsula.

Best Fishing Area:
The 1150 Fathom area was the best this past week.

Best Bait/Lure:
Live bait was very important for the billfish and even then, it was difficult to get one to bite. Tuna feathers & cedar plugs worked well for the yellowfin tuna.

Live Bait Supply:
Pretty good for a change, and mostly caballitos, (aka goggle-eyes & scad).
