Excellent and fast action from Zihuatanejo, according to Captain Temo Verboonen, skipper of the "Secuestro De Amor". Temo says, "the offshore fishing is not very far offshore, just a couple miles out in front of the Bay, with multiple big schools of oceanic tuna, (skipjack tuna) and the big fish are chasing'em. There is an outstanding chance for anglers to catch a black marlin the way things are right now and most of the blacks have been in the 250 lb. size ranges. We are still waiting for the bigger females to move into the area that will liven things up for the anglers and the crews. We are seeing more and more mixing of yellowfin tuna in the skipjack schools that keep everyone's interest peaked. The dorado action is pretty good for some bigger fish and found on the current/garbage line, between the blue and dirty water areas. The sailfish bite has been very good with most boats having an opportunity to release several sailfish during the fishing day. Some of our days are starting off a little slow but bite gets better and better as the day progresses. Now that the storms and big swells have passed by, the super pangas have been able to access the shoreline areas for the roosterfish and jack crevalle and the bite has come back in full swing".

IZ Climate:
Partly cloudy days with scattered PM & night showers, a little humid and temps from 71 nights to 91 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions:
Near perfect! Temps are excellent at 86-87 degrees and stable with blue water but a couple miles from the Bay. Light & Variable surface breezes but mostly calm.

Best Fishing Area:
Starts just outside the bay at a couple miles where the water turns deep blue and clear with lots of bird life and mixed tuna schools, sailfish and black marlin.

Best Bait/Lures:
Rigged baits for sailfish, bridled skipjack for the black marlin, tuna feathers and cedar plugs working well for the tuna.

Bait Supply:
Excellent for both, live bait and trolling baits.
