The daily dorado catches are spiraling upward and allowing for easy limit fishing from the offshore sportfishing cruisers and the super pangas. Better yet, the size of the dorado have improved considerably this past week and just yesterday, we received a report of a 60-pounder that was taken aboard the "Aries I", skippered by Captain Jose Zamora. The anglers, Robert Money and Rene Casarsa, both from Houston, TX, fought the fish that was taken on a slow trolled rigged bait from the outrigger and provided a terrific arial show for the anglers and crew. In addition to the dorado action, a few billfish finally returned to the area and entered the catch reports, too. The overall catch reports for a total of 12 days fished reflected 1 striped marlin, 2 sailfish and limits of dorado, along with many releases. The super pangas, reporting for 5 days fishing, also reflected limits of dorado for all days and also reflected many releases.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly cloudy days with temps from 71 nights to 90 daytime highs and an occasional pm thunder shower.

Sea Conditions: Good water temps that ranged from 82 inshore to 84 offshore and bluing up very nicely at about 22 miles out to the south. The cleaner water is starting to bring in a few more billfish to the area.

Best Fishing Area: The billfish out to the south in the clear water zone, about 22 miles. The dorado are stacking up under the buoys and making for very easy fishing.

Best Lure/Bait: Small artificials, rapala types, feathers, poppers are working well for the dorado as is live bait and strips. The billfish taking the rigged baits in the clean water areas.

Bait Supply: Remains readily available for both, fresh rigging baits and live bait.
