According to Captain Temo Verboonen, our Ace Reporter for Zihuatanejo sportfishing, the bite continues to be excellent for the offshore fishing and about the only change is the bite has moved farther offshore to the 15-20 mile mark. As for the yellowfin tuna, they have moved out to about 35 miles or so but the bite is slow. The better tuna bite is now at the 50-mile mark and definitely requires the longer fishing days to reach those fishing grounds. The inshore fishing has been bouncing around for the past few weeks, good one week and off the next and this week was no different. It was good fishing last week but slow this week and it appears that the inshore fish are on the move again, probably looking for a better food supply.
IZ Climate: Mostly sunny and warm conditions prevail for this area with temps ranging from 71 nights to 91 daytime highs. Excellent overall weather, picture-perfect.
Sea Conditions: Also excellent with 83-85 degree surface temps, calm seas and light & variable surface breezes.
Best Lure/Bait: The freshly caught rigged baits are working very well for the billfish and dorado.
Bait Supply: Remains very good for both, fresh rigging baits and live bait.
