The Salmon bite turned on today for the anglers who ran straight out of Santa Cruz. There were some 30 pound Salmon caught today by the anglers who worked from 36'51/122'02 to 36'52/122'04. The Salmon were being caught 120-180 feet down trolling bait and Blue Kajikis. There was one commercial boat who had 10 fish ranging from 14-30 pounds. This is great Salmon action for late in the season. The Halibut bite remains spotty but there were a few decent scores reported from a angler who was trolling near the Mile Buoy. The Seabass are cruising around the kelp edges of Capitola you just have to get lucky and pull up on a school. There have been some nice fish up to 64 pounds weighed in. Check the Fish of the Week picture link! The Seabass are taking Kastmasters, Mega Baits, Krocodiles, and Fish Traps. The Rockcod fishing was great at South Rock and above Natural Bridges. There were some good scores of nice Lingcod and big Rockcod from Ano Nuevo. The water looks like it may lay down on the outside for Albacore for Sunday and Monday. The water looks to be about 37 miles out on a 235 degree heading.
