Both the dorado counts and the billfish counts have slowed up during the past week for no apparent reason, albeit, we did have a 1-day port closure on Monday, which was a residual from the passing tropical storm from the week earlier. Still, the fish counts reflected a sustained bite or the boats and wound up being a 5.3 fish per boat day average. The overall catches reflected 5 sailfish, 14 dorado, 53 bonito, 3 sharks, 5 Spanish mackerel, 11 giant barracuda, 7 blackfin tuna, 1 amberjack, 8 grouper, 43 snappers, 43 triggerfish 31 banana fish and 56 chac-chi fish.

PM Climate: It was a partly cloudy week with a goo0d mix of sunshine. Air temps varied from 77 nights to 87 daytime highs and a 70% humidity level.

Sea Conditions: Following the one day port closure the sea conditions turned rather pleasant for a change and the sea surface remained stable at 83 degrees throughout the area. The tropical surface breezes were flowing mostly from the easterly directions and varied from light to about 12 mph. Overall, very good surface conditions for fishing.

Best Bait: The readily available freshly caught ballyhoo baits continue to be the focus of the crews and the anglers and is provided as part of every charter.

Bait Supply: This area continues to crank out a surplus of freshly caught ballyhoo baits that allows every boat to have sufficient baits to easily complete the fishing day.
