Unfortunately, it is definitely the spring doldrums for fishing from Cabo San Lucas right now, as the fish have moved into the every year spring change of seasons mode when the fish round the corner and head into the Sea of Cortez. While the water temps and clarity are much better than normal for this time of year, the billfish continue to have "lock-jaw" and getting them to bite is a serious challenge. Also having it's effect is the full moon mode we are currently in. High boat for the week was the Gaviota VIII, with Captain Juan Dominguez with 4 stripers for five fishing days. While not a big deal in numbers, there were only a total of 6 taken for the 43 fishing days of the combined fleet totals. Overall counts reflected 6 stripers, (4 released) 42 dorado, 12 yellowfin tuna, 2 skipjack tuna, 9 sierra, 1 jack cravelle, 1 mako shark, 10 yellowtail and 34 giant Humbolt squid.

Cabo Climate: Mostly sunny and warm days with temps from 64 nights to 87 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Generally coolish on the Pacific side at 69-70 that has pushed a 10 wide steak through the warmer waters surrounding Cabo. On the south side the temp is 75 and on the north side and into the Sea of Cortez, the temps are at 74.

Best Fishing Area: There is no concentration of fish but in general, the billfish are all on the Sea of Cortez side.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was the best of the baits.

Live Bait Supply: Not reported
