Ice fishing is slow, and ice and slush conditions are sloppy. Anglers are reporting 16 to 20 inches of ice, with snow and 4 to 8 inches of slush on top of the ice. We recommend tall, waterproof winter boots to keep your feet warm and dry. Edges of the ice are firm in the morning in most areas, but become soft and potentially unsafe by early afternoon. The reservoir water level is increasing, causing the ice to expand and separate from the shore. We advise anglers to use caution, test edges as conditions change and keep ice safety a top priority
