The reservoir is 83% full and rising. Despite the volume of water coming into the reservoir, it is still perfectly accessible from the Strawberry Bay and Soldier Creek marina areas. Fishing is good to great for cutthroat trout and rainbow trout. Anglers are seeing success using tube jigs, marabou jigs, bucktail jigs, woolly buggers, beaded leech patterns, casting spoons and inline spinners. Anglers are seeing good catch rates trolling both sides of the reservoir in the mornings, and vertically jigging throughout the day. Casting and/or trolling tubes, stickbaits, crankbaits, spoons and streamers are also producing cutthroat trout and rainbow trout, as well as trout dough bait fished off the bottom using a Carolina rig or fished behind a casting bubble. Yellow, chartreuse, pink and rainbow-colored garlic scented dough baits work well.
