GUNNISON RIVER BELOW GUNNISON TUNNEL, CO
- Temperature: 41.18 ° F
- Streamflow: 576 ft³/s
- Gage height: 2.74 ft
Flowing clear and low, fish will be spooky, so approach and wade accordingly. It’s cold, so expect winter fishing conditions of hunkered-down trout.
Watch for hatches of midges, but a good attractor nymph with midge dropped below is a good nymph rig go-to.
Attractor Nymphs: Pats Rubberlegs 8-12, Duracell Jig 12-16, 12-14 20 Incher Stone, San Juan Worms, 10-14 Prince Nymph.
Midges: Zebra Midge or Poison Tung 18-22, Rainbow Warrior 18-20, Disco Midge 18-20, Black Midge Pupa 18-22.
Dries: Sproat Midge 20-24, Griffith Gnat 18-24
