Small striped bass have been chewing on cut anchovies and sardines. The Golf course and Tupman were hot, but anglers had to sort through a lot of undersized fish to land a couple of keepers. Bigger zebras were reported by anglers throwing small swimbaits and tube jigs worked along the bottom. Largemouth went after poppers, Whopper Ploppers, and walking baits at sunrise. They picked up drop shot 6” plastic worms in green pumpkin and shad colors the rest of the day. The catfish bite has been good for anglers putting dip baits, cut sardines, and chicken liver in the right places. Catfish have been biting where swift water becomes calm after check gates and along inside bends of the aqueduct.
