The dorado bite continues to provide the mainstay of the Cabo action with many boats reflecting easy limit fishing for their groups. While a few fish are smaller sized, (and we are seeing many releases) there is also a sufficient quantity of 20-30 lb. fish that make for excellent table fare and great catching fun, too. However, the billfish counts are still down considerably for this time of year and only about every third boat is landing a marlin, albeit, more than half the boats do have a daily opportunity with an occasional strike hear & there. Overall combined fish counts reflected for a total of 34 days fished resulted in 13 stripers, (9 releases) 1 roosterfish, 3 wahoo, 24 yellowfin tuna and 253 dorado.

Cabo Climate: Partly cloudy days but comfortably warm days with temps from 61 nights to 84 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: On the Pacific side, from the Finger Bank to Cristobal, the temps are holding well at 76-77 degrees. The temp break is at Cristobal and running out to the south, rising to 80 and from there, slowly rising to 81-82 around the corner at the Gorda Banks. Overall, everything was fishable this past week in all directions.

Best Fishing Area: Continues to be on the Pacific side from the Cristobal Ridge, Migrino, Los Arcos and Golden Gate.

Best Lure/Bait: Most of the billfish are being taken on live caballitos. Dorado taken on lures and an easy 2nd or more taken on live bait dropped back to the jig strike.

Live Bait Supply: Good for caballito with a few mackerel showing up in the mix.
