It was another fine week of quality fishing results for the Cabo sportfishing fleets that produced billfish to 550 lbs. and yellowfin tuna to 200 lbs. Tyler Hamlin, Florida, fishing aboard the "Tuna Time", with Captain Roberto Padilla, landed the 550 lbs. blue marlin fishing just 13 miles south of the Cabo Falso Lighthouse, trolling a brown/orange Petrolero artificial on 60 lbs. mono and landed the fish in a short 45 minutes time. The following day, angler John Evemson of Eureka, CA, also fishing aboard the "Tuna Time", landed a 200 lbs. yellowfin tuna on live bait, fishing about 5 miles south of the Cabo Falso Lighthouse. In addition to the two trophy fish, the anglers had limit fish for dorado on both days that added to the action packed charter. The overall combined fish counts for 25 fished days reflected 1 blue marlin, 13 stripers released,1 wahoo, 6 yellowfin tuna and 139 dorado (fish to 40 plus lbs.). The dorado bite is still very good and fairly easy for boats to produce limit fishing for the anglers, with the bulk of the action taking place on the Pacific side of Cabo.

Cabo Climate: Mostly sunny & warm days with temps from 74 nights to 93 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Near Excellent from the Pacific side to the Sea of Cortez. 80-81 on the Pacific and butts up to 85 degree water at Cabo Falso that slowly increases to 87-88 by the Gorda Banks and all in clean blue water.

Best Lure/Bait: Much of the fish is being taken on artificials, including the dorado. The big blue was taken on a brown/orange Petrolero and the big tuna on a live bait.

Best Fishing Area: Continues to be on the Pacific side that stretches from south off Cabo San Lucas and around to the west.

Live Bait Supply: Availability remains good with some mixed bait that included mullet and jacks as well as caballitos.
