The assortment of fish this past week was nothing short of amazing and the mixed-bag catch consisted of a 16 fish species for the 41 fishing days provided by the fleet. The sailfish bite continued, albeit, it was down a little from the week before. However, we are still a month away from the beginning peak season fishing month for sailfish and according to the Fleet Manager, Armando Gutierrez, that should allow for a longer billfish season. As it is right now, the angler never knows what the next fish may be and that makes for a very exciting fishing experience; just lots of fun. The overall combined fish counts for the week reflected 5 sailfish, 6 Dorado, 2 king mackerel, 15 yellowfin tuna, 14 Atlantic barracuda, 11 bonito, 5 wahoo, 5 Spanish mackerel, 3 African pompano, 4 banana fish, 4 soap fish, 14 triggerfish, 17 grouper, 3 jack cravelle and 12 amberjack and 48 snapper.

Puerto Morelos Climate:
Partly cloudy days with good stretches of sunshine and warm temperatures that ranged from 72 nights to 88 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions:
Mostly very good sea conditions with water temps stable at 80-81 degrees throughout the area and mostly light & variable tropical surface breezes.

Best Bait/Lure:
Again, it was another week of rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo, taken fresh each day and provided to the fleet.

Best Fishing Area:
It all starts just minutes from the entrance to the Marina El Cid and the boats work outbound, both north and south, from there.

Bait Supply:
Remains excellent with more than sufficient numbers of ballyhoo.
