While a bit lighter on the charter fishing days, it was another sensational fishing week for the Marina El Cid Fishing Fleet from Puerto Morelos, along the Riviera Maya's Caribbean Sea. The diversified catches for this area are a wonderful phenomenon of the location of Puerto Morelos and it's proximity to the fishing grounds that provide the deep water just a few hundred yards from the entrance to the Marina El Cid. This past week's fishing reflected a total of 23 days for the fleet that provided a mixed-bag catch that reflected 14 species that included 2 blue marlin, 1 white marlin, 4 sailfish, 16 dorado, 8 Atlantic barracuda, 230 bonito, 2 wahoo, 9 blackfin tuna, 1 amberjack, 9 triggerfish, 1 soapfish, 2 banana fish, 2 mutton snappers and 19 grouper.

PM Climate: A very wet week for this area that produced lots of rain, especially in the P.M.s and nights and temps that ranged from 77 nights to 87 daytime highs. Rain is predicted right through the upcoming weekend.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps remain very good and in the 82-83 degree ranges and overall, fairly calm with light & variable surface winds from the south to southeast from 5-15 mph.

Best Bait: The continued favorite bait for this area remains the on-going supply of freshly caught ballyhoo that is supplied to all of the sportfishers on a daily basis.
