Puerto Morelos fishermen catch 3 offseason Sailfish along with their usual mixed-bag species

he Marina El Cid Sportfishing Fleet from Puerto Morelos, Mexico, has provided another fun action week of fishing that included another 3 off-season sailfish in their mixed bag report that spanned some 14 species of fish. Dorado were the fish of the week and closely followed by bonito, but the big surprise was the 3 sailfish taken aboard the "Mojito" for their two fishing days. The overall catches for a total of 15 days fished reflected 3 sailfish, 11 dorado, 10 bonito, 9 giant Atlantic barracuda, 1 blackfin tuna, 2 Spanish mackerel, 1 wahoo, 2 king mackerel, 1 soap fish, 2 trigger fish, 1 banana fish, 1 amberjack, 5 grouper and 5 snappers.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps that ranged from a cool 58 at night to a comfy 85 degree and light and variable surface breezes.

Sea Condition: Overall, it's been very good sea conditions with light surface breezes and stable sea temps holding at 81 degrees throughout the area.

Best Bait/Lure: The unchallenged bait of choice for this area continues to be the freshly caught supply of ballyhoo.
