The fishing and overall fishing conditions have returned to excellent throughout the area and the bite continues to be excellent. According to Captain Temo Verboonen, our area reporter, the fishing/catching has become "intense" for the billfish and dorado with a sustained bite from sunrise to noon. The fish have moved back to the 5 mile mark, just out in front of the Bay, with good sea temps and deep, blue, clean water. The skippers are reporting 3-6 strikes a day on sailfish and add a few quality sized dorado in the mix to make up for their fishing days in the near off shore waters. It's an excellent time for the light tackle and fly fishermen to land a sailfish. The inshore fishing has regained its strength, too, and providing very good action for the Sierras and jack crevalle and even a few chulas are showing up in the mix. We saw the roosterfish at Papanoa beach area, but just for a single day and they moved to another area, probably following the bait schools and we haven't relocated them just yet.

IZ Cimate: An unusually cold morning/evening for Thursday, with air temps falling to 54 degrees, but back to the low 70's by Friday. Daytime temps are near perfect with highs to 86. Light & variable surface breezes and a mix of sunshine and clouds for the area. Very pleasant overall weather conditions continue for the area.

Sea Conditions: Calm seas and temps in the 84 to 85.5 degree ranges and excellent clarity at the 5 mile mark.

Best Fishing Area: The offshore fishing is very close and the bite is at the 5 mile mark, just out in front of Zihua Bay.

Best Bait/Lure: The rigged trolling baits are working exceptionally well for the anglers for both, sailfish and dorado.

Bait Supply: Excellent! Good bait situation with plenty of freshly caught baits for rigging and plenty of live bait available from the vendors at about $5.00 per dozen.
