The full moon took its toll on the fishing from Cabo San Lucas this past week

Which caused the bite to be unquestionably very slow, albeit, not so untypical of March. While billfish were occasionally being sighted, they were anything but eager to take a live bait, even when well presented. They would merely sink out and disappear. Perhaps the coming week, in the darker side of the moon, the fish will change their mode and again begin to bite? The overall catches for 17 days fished reflected 1 single marlin, 10 dorado, 5 roosterfish, 15 yellowfin tuna, 17 skipjack tuna and 1 Sierra for their efforts.

Cabo Climate: Mostly cloudy days and cool mornings & evenings. Temps ranged from 54 nights to 83 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps are cooler on both sides of the peninsula and range from 68 to 71 degrees with the warmer water on the Pacific side.

Best Fishing Area: There is no concentration of fish in any area and the billfish bite has virtually come to a stop. While marlin sleepers are still being sighted throughout the area, they are not cooperating with the anglers ad of course, the full moon has had it's monthly affect on the billfish, too.

Bait Supply: Continues to be pretty good and wasn't affected so much by the moon phase this month. There is currently a mix of mackerel and caballitos available at the $3.00 per bait rate.
