The fishing for Salmon was slower near the Soquel Hole due to the Mackerel that were taking peoples bait. There were a few good scores of Salmon near the Black Can at 36'51/121'53. The best bet was to troll Krippled Anchovies or Watermelon Krocodiles down 40-120 feet. There are some Mackerel all around so be sure to check your gear consistently. The Rockcod fishing was good up at Ano Nuevo but the wind was making it hard to stay on top of the fish. You have to use a drift chute when the wind comes up like it has. There were a few reports of Halibut caught near Capitola in 40-55 feet of water. The Albacore grounds were windy today making it hard for small boaters to even think of running 45 miles out. It may be possible to make a run out there in a bigger boat on Sunday you just have to get up early and check the Weather Buoy and see how it is blowing. You can check the Weather Buoy at the bottom of my web page by clicking the link.
