Conservation Officer John Owen, the new wildlife officer for Rich County, reports that fishing is slow and activity is light. The Monte Cristo Highway is usually open by Memorial Day weekend. You can find good fishing for large tiger trout and rainbow trout during ice-off at Birch Creek. Jigs and streamers are effective this time of year.

Owen reports the same activity and success for Woodruff Creek Reservoir
