LOWER: fishing is fair to good using flies and lures. Grasshopper patterns and green drake patterns are effective in July and August. You can use bait below Olmstead Diversion dam and down through the canyon through town. Anglers report good fishing in the deeper pools and near undercut banks. The Provo River has special regulations. Please read Utah Fishing Guidebook for details.

MIDDLE: (July 29) Anglers report good fishing for trout by using size 18 to 22 flies. Green drake patterns and hopper patterns work on this stretch of river. Small-sized flies work great too, but be sure to switch patterns if the fish are not biting. You can use bait in the stretch from above Charleston Bridge to the Midway Lane Bridge. The Provo River has special regulations. Please read Utah Fishing Guidebook for details.
