Fishing is good for cutthroat trout. Anglers are doing the best on the east side of the lake, anywhere from Cisco Beach to the Utah/Idaho state line. Trolling and jigging are working well. Anglers who are trolling are using flatfish lures or larger rattling crankbaits. Fish are about 50–70 feet deep. Anglers who are jigging are having success near the rockpile, Rainbow Cove and Cisco Beach areas (in about the same depths) using tube jigs tipped with cisco. Fishing from the Utah State Park Marina has been fair for cutthroat trout in the morning. The fish are preparing to spawn, so try using spoons and different types of crankbaits. Remember, you must release all cutthroat trout that do not have a healed fin clip.
