On May 21, Walt Maldonado said the water had risen three to four feet, and fishing was fair. He suggested using nightcrawlers, chicken livers or commercial blood bait. Fishing has been best on the west side around the pumphouse and above the rock house. Please be aware that all walleye, pike and smallmouth bass must be killed in order to help the river's endangered fish.
