Sotcher Lake - Mammoth Lakes, CA

Lake Information

Fish Species: Rainbow Trout
Sotcher Lake, located in the Reds Meadow Valley near Mammoth Lakes, is a spring-fed lake primarily supporting rainbow and brown trout. Like its neighbor, Starkweather Lake, it is highly accessible and popular among float-tube anglers. Fishing success is often more productive here than at some other nearby waters. Early morning and late evening twilight periods are particularly effective for trout, coinciding with optimal low-light conditions for feeding. Wind conditions significantly impact surface activity and lure presentation
