A large area of open water has formed in front of Mud Creek Bay and extends to Chicken Creek. Use extreme caution fishing closer to the main body of the reservoir in these areas. Anglers are reporting 4-6 inches of ice in most areas. Areas of open water and/or thin ice are still present, so exhibit caution. Anglers fishing near Strawberry Bay Marina, Mud Creek, Chicken Creek and the north end of Soldier Creek are reporting fair to good trout catch rates using white-colored soft plastic jigs (such as tubes, paddle tails or minnows) tipped with shrimp or nightcrawler.
