Fishing forecast (December through May): Safe ice usually forms by late December. Ice fishing is often fair to good for tiger and cutthroat trout with standard ice tackle and baits. Anglers should use extreme caution and be aware of best practices for ice safety. Anglers occasionally catch Kokanee salmon through the ice as well. Try adding a flasher to your line and fish suspended over deep water. Anglers typically target kokanee near the dam in deeper water. Access is by snowmobile or foot. Ice-off occurs in May, but access to the boat ramp may not be open till June due to snow drifts.
