Captain Temo Verboonen was relaying the Zihuatanejo fishing information and emphasized the unusual fishing pattern this year, not only from the lack of anglers and charters but the availability of more marlin and less sailfish at this time of year. Very different from most years, when the sailfish are very abundant and the marlin are harder to find, this year has reversed that activity. He reported the marlin bite begins at about 20-plus miles, along with some yellowfin tuna, as the water clears to a clean green, (not blue, but cleaner) and a reflection of more rain throughout the area, especially at night. The inshore water is dirty as the rivers flush out to the ocean. While we can see the roosterfish from time to time, there are very few bites, even with the live bait. Seems like they are full. Even the bonito spook away when the feel they vibration of the boat.

IZ Climate: Mostly cloudy with an occasional period of sunshine during the day, temps ranging from 71 nights to 89 daytime highs and humid.

Sea Conditions: Overall, flat waters continue with light surface tropical breezes and temps that range from 85 inshore to 87 offshore and becoming cleaner at about 20 miles or so.

Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits best for the sailfish and tuna feathers for the yelowfin.

Bait Supply: Continues to be plentiful for both, rigged baits and live bait.
