It was an interesting and very good fishing week from Puerto Morelos, that produced a mixed bag catch of 14 species that also included a couple of way off season sailfish. This was another area that seemed to be unaffected by the full moon and the fish were biting. The Marina El Cid Fleet reported in for 17 days fished that reflected 2 sailfish, 4 dorado, 2 blackfin tuna, 1 wahoo, 12 king mackerel, 10 bonito, 14 Atlantic barracuda, 11 Spanish mackerel, 38 triggerfish, 3 banana fish, 1 soapfish, 6 snapper 1 amberjack and 23 grouper. It averages out to almost 8 fish per boat with a multi-fish variety to catch every single day.

PM Climate:
Partly cloudy days with temps from 72 nights to 91 daytime highs, a little humidity and a chance for late P.M. and night showers.

Sea Conditions:
Excellent! a very light surface breeze week with just enough breeze to cool off during the day's fishing. Temps stable at 83-85 throughout the area.

Best Bait/Lure:
The fresh caught ballyhoo continue to be the bait of choice using them both rigged and unrigged, in the outriggers, downriggers and skirted with colors, unskirted, even strips and cut bait, all work well for this area.

Bait Supply:
Always an excellent supply of fresh ballyhoo for the boats on a daily basis.
