Rain also affected the fishing at Mazatalan, but it looks to be clearing for the weekend

Not to be outdone with rain, Mazatlan has been having her share, too, especially in the PM hours. While the first few days of the fishing week were pretty good for the anglers, the area became saturated from Monday through Thursday and looking much better for the coming weekend, same as in Cabo. The entire tropical areas along the eastern Pacific have received more than their share of rainfall this week and they can now use a day or two of fry-out time. We only have a minor fishing report for The Aries Sportfishing Fleet that reflected a total of 8 days fished in the offshore waters that resulted in 2 sailfish, 5 dorado and 3 mako sharks and then, 7 inshore super panga days that reflected 31 dorado, 2 corvina and 1 quality sized red snapper.

Mazatlan Climate: Rain from Monday thru Thursday and temps that ranged from 73 nights to 89 daytime highs and limits of humidity.

Sea Conditions: Surface temps have remained good with temps that ranged from 88 inshore to 87 offshore, along with SSW surface breezes in the 8-10 mph ranges for the most part of the week.

Best Lure/Bait: Rigged baits were best for the sailfish, sharks and dorado in the offshore waters. Live bait and smaller artificials, especially the deep diving lures, were working well for the inshore super pangas.

Bait Supply: Continues to be good in this area for both, live bait and fresh rigging baits.
