The talk of the town is Hurricane Ernesto, which blew through the area on Tuesday/Wednesday, with little fanfare. They did have the port closed and it was windy and rainy, but otherwise, an occasional tree was blown over to highlight the damage report. The boats fared well at the Marina El Cid and they are back to fishing, today.

The overall report for the area did dwindle down and i would suppose it was due to the low pressure throughout the area, but all in all, it was still pretty good for the anglers that did go out for the day. We received a report for 13 days fished that reflected a 10 fish variety this past week that included 13 Dorado, 3 wahoo, 7 giant Atlantic barracuda, 5 blackfin tuna, 7 amberjack, 16 triggerfish, 10 grouper, 17 banana fish and 4 mutton sappers.

PM Climate: Terrible weather during the early part of the week with Hurricane Ernesto and settling down and back to fishing on Thursday morning, August 12, 2012, and back to fishing. Temps ranging from 74 nights to 92 daytime highs and humid.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps holding stable at 83-85 degrees. Some residual swell condition but fishable with easterly surface breezes at about 8-10 mph.

Bait Supply: Remains good for the ballyhoo, the continued choice of the skippers in this area.
