Dorado were definitely the fish of the week and the majority of the fish were in the quality sizes of 30-45 lbs or so. The "Tuna Time", fishing with the Gerald Meyr group, landed 5 dorado, (all in the 30-40 lb. ranges) along with a single wahoo in the mid-40 lb. range and released a single sailfish for t heir first fishing day of a 4-day charter. High boat for the week was the "Gaviota IX", reflecting 2 stripers released, 2 yellowfin tuna and 24 dorado for their 6 fishing days. The overall fish counts for a total of 22 days fished reflected 5 stripers released, 2 sailfish released, 2 wahoo, 4 yellowfin tuna and 95 dorado.

Cabo Climate: The area is definitely drying out and continues to be very warm with sunny and clear skies and temps that ranged from 71 nights to 93 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Overall, it's been a good week with mostly light & variable surface breezes and stable water temps that ranged from 84-86 degrees and spanned both sides of the peninsula. The warmer waters continued to be on the Sea of Cortez side but the better fishing remained on the Pacific side.

Best Fishing Area: The fish were scattered about the Pacific side and ranged from the Herradura, (south of Cabo) to the Golden Gate Bank, about 23 miles to the northwest of Cabo.

Best Lure/Bait: The billfish were best on live bait but dorado were pretty eager on the artificials and then dropping back additional live baits on the slide, once a dorado was hooked up.

Live Bait Supply: Live bait was more difficult toward the full moon phase and it helped to be early at the bait vendor boats.
