There is no lack of action for the anglers and it starts very close to the entrance of the Bay, at about 8 the 8 mile mark. According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the sailfish bite is "like some years ago", with huge schools of sailfish and some quality sized dorado mixed in to enhance the fishing days. The bite continues to be fast & furious and mostly in the multiple simultaneous strikes. Doubles and triples are the norm right now and releasing double digit counts for a single day has become the expected result. Adding to the terrific offshore fishing is the inshore bite that's producing a mixed bag catch that includes big Sierra, Jack Crevalle, bonitos and grouper, but only a few roosterfish. The inshore action is a full-speed bite for the light tackle anglers and the fly fishing enthusiasts. The full moon phase has not caused any slow down with the fishing.
IZ Climate: Partly cloudy days with lots of intermittent sunshine and near perfect warm days with temps that ranged from 68 nights to 87 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: It's been a terrific water-weather week for this are with nearly calm seas and temps that ranged from 82 inshore to 83-84 offshore, with good clarity starting at about 5 miles or so.
Best Fishing Area: Just 8 miles out front of Zihuatanejo Bay
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits working enormously well for the sailfish and the dorado as well as an assortment of various aritificials. Bait Supply: An excellent bait supply for both, live bait and freshly caught baits for rigging.
